We are members of the Friesian Horse Association of North America (FHANA), and adhere to the Bylaws and Regulations of FHANA, and its parent organization, the Friesche Paarden Stamboek (KFPS), based in The Netherlands. Our horses are the result of the rigorous attention the Dutch (through the FPS) have given to re-establishing the Friesian Breed, which at one time was on the verge of extinction. These strict guidelines and restrictions on how the Friesian horse is bred, (preserving, enhancing, and creating exceptional qualities) have now guaranteed its future, and expanded its presence internationally. The FPS is the governing body and to be credited for rescuing the Friesian breed, and developing it into what it is today. FHANA, as the North American daughter organization to the FPS, is charged with maintaining that same quality, and holds these standards to its membership.
We are also members of the Friesian Horse Club of Southern California (FHCSC) which is one of the first chapters of FHANA, established approximately 1986. The FHCSC adheres to the Bylaws and Regulations of FHANA.
Our decision to become breeders rests in the quality of horses we have been given by God, and to select the best candidates to enhance the qualities of our mares, passed on through the offspring. We will not produce offspring for the sole desire to just sell and make money, but to contribute to and improve the charactersitics of the North American Friesian breed. We also decided to move in this direction because of our love for our horses, as they are not just commodities and products, but living creatures that we should give the chance to excel in life, and not for performance only, but for the future of the Friesian Breed.
Both our mares were bred by the Bosksicht Farm in Holland, were together as fillies, purchased together, imported together, and have been together ever since. When we discovered them, they were both 2 years old, and they chose us as their own, Seaske to Sarah, Richt to Scott. Originally looking to purchase geldings, these two stole our hearts, and changed our future. To God, we will forever be grateful.
